Analog Photography

Through the world of analog photography, I discovered my passion for capturing moments. My journey into its intricacies during my studies was a love affair that ignited my soul. It wasn't just learning; it was an intimate dance with creating images that stirred my heart.

FRIENDS BEFORE FANS

Who is Lucas Van Loo?

During my youth, Lucas Van Loo was one of my most significant partners in artistic exploration. We began as classmates in my first year of art school and swiftly evolved into colleagues, collaborating across various disciplines in numerous experimental ventures. I owe a great deal to him for sharing his boundless youthful motivation, inspiration, and creativity. Together, we formed a small 'collective' with a playfully and badly translated name, 'Beurre de la Conduire.'

Videoclips?

During my early days, I had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with emerging Rap/Trap artists, directing music videos and capturing their essence through portraiture. I owe immense gratitude to Dalliance AKA Diana Tseboyeva for entrusting me with these creative projects. Their belief in my work marked the beginning and backbone of my local career.

Portraits

Capturing portraits of friends has been an absolute joy for me. Not only did it allow me to express my passion, but it also served as a bridge, connecting me deeply with peers of my own age. It became a meaningful way to bond and understand each other through the artistry of portraiture.

Brecht not Bregt.

This particular picture stands out as the closest representation of my self-image among all the self-portraits I've taken. It encapsulates an essence that resonates profoundly with how I perceive myself.

Why so many names?

Throughout my formative years, I was given various names, starting with 'Bert' from a friend who found it easier to pronounce. Surprisingly, these names became a perfect fit, transcending beyond their origins. They've seamlessly adapted and become versatile labels for the diverse phases of my explorations, experiments, and varied interests.

  • Bregt originated from my Instagram username, inspired by a meaningful drawing I received during my volunteer work at a playground for children with disabilities.

I aim to revisit specific works and images, drawing wisdom from the past to enhance and refine my future endeavors.

THAILAND.

Embarking on my inaugural solo trip, accompanied by just one friend and her family, rekindled my exploration of diverse perspectives in both experiencing and presenting my work.
